ES Explorer (ES File Explorer)

ES Explorer is probably the most popular file manager for Android, equipped with all the necessary functions for managing files. Completely free and in Russian.

The appendix contains all the standard features, such as copying, moving, renaming and deleting folders and files. In addition, there is a grouping of media files, work with different locations of internal memory, preview images, built-in tools for working with archives.

And finally, ES Explorer can work with cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and others), supports FTP and local area network connection. There is also an Android application manager.

To summarize, ES File Explorer has almost everything that may be required from the file manager on Android. However, it is worth noting that its latest versions have become perceived by users no longer so unequivocally: it is reported about pop-up messages, deterioration of the interface (from the point of view of some users) and other changes that speak in favor of searching for another application for these purposes.

X-Plore File Manager

X-Plore is a free (except for some functions) and very advanced file manager for Android phones and tablets with wide functionality. Perhaps for some of the novice users who are used to other applications of this type, it may first seem complicated, but if you figure it out, you probably don’t want to use something else.

Amaze File Manager

Many of the users who abandoned ES Explorer, in a review of Amaze File Manager, left the best comments (which is a bit strange, as there are fewer functions in Amaze). This file manager is really good: simple, beautiful, concise, works fast, the Russian language and free use are present.

What with the features:

• Support themes
• Work with multiple panels
• Application manager
• Root file access if you have rights on your phone or tablet.

Cabinet

The free Cabinet file manager is still in beta (but available for download from the Play Market, in Russian), but already has and performs all the necessary functions for working with files and folders on Android at the current time. The only negative phenomenon noted by users - with some actions can slow down.

File Manager (Cheetah Mobile Explorer)

Suppose, the Explorer for Android from the developer Cheetah Mobile is not the coolest in terms of the interface, but, just like the two previous options, it allows you to use all of its functions completely free of charge and also has a Russian-language interface (applications with some limitations will go on).

Among the functions, in addition to the standard functionality of copying, pasting, moving and deleting, the Explorer includes:

• Supports file transfer using FTP, WebDav, LAN / SMB protocols, including the ability to stream media over the specified protocols.

Solid Explorer

Now about the outstanding features of these or other, but partially paid file managers for Android. The first one is Solid Explorer. Among the properties is an excellent interface in Russian, with the possibility of including several independent “windows”, analyzing the contents of memory cards, internal memory, individual folders, embedded media viewing, connecting cloud storages (including Yandex Disk), LAN, and also via all common transmission protocols data (FTP, WebDAV, SFTP).

Additionally, there is support for themes, built-in archiver (unpacking and creating archives) ZIP, 7z and RAR, Root access, support for Chromecast and plug-ins.

Among other features of the Solid Explorer file manager is setting up the design and quick access to bookmark folders directly from the Android home screen (long icon retention), as in the screenshot below.

Mi Explorer (Mi File Explorer) is familiar to owners of Xiaomi phones but is perfectly installed on other Android phones and tablets.

The set of functions is about the same as in other file managers, from the additional - built-in cleaning of Android memory and support for transferring files via Mi Drop (if there is an appropriate application). The disadvantage, judging by the user reviews, maybe advertising.

ASUS File Manager

And another good proprietary file manager for Android, available on third-party devices - Asus File Explorer. Distinctive features: minimalism and usability, especially for the novice user.

There are not so many additional functions, i.e. basically working with your files, folders, and media files (which are categorized). Is that there is support for cloud storage - Google Drive, OneDrive, Yandex Disk, and corporate ASUS WebStorage.

FX File Explorer

FX File Explorer is the only file manager in the review that does not have Russian but deserves attention. Some functions in the application are available free of charge and permanently, some require payment (connecting network storages, encryption, for example).

Simple management of files and folders, while in the mode of two independent windows is available for free, while, in my opinion, in a well-made interface. Among other things, supports add-ons (plug-ins), the clipboard, and when viewing media files - thumbnails instead of icons with the ability to resize.

What else? Support archives Zip, GZip, 7zip and more, unpacking RAR, built-in media player and HEX editor (as well as a plain text editor), convenient file sorting tools, transferring files via Wi-Fi from phone to phone, support for transferring files through a browser ( as in AirDroid ) and that's not all.

Despite the abundance of functions, the application is quite compact and convenient and, if you haven’t stopped at anything, and there are no problems with English, you should also try FX File Explorer. You can download from the official page.
